2 or More Slashes Case

Postby Nikbin » Wed Dec 12, 2007 8:51 pm

Hello,

I don't want htaccess code, I've already take from some other question's answers.
Thanks for this site and your helpful explains.

While i was trying my site's urls, i realized this case but couldn't understand and find any information.

Code: Select all
http://localhost/sub1////sub2/sub3///////page.htm

or any url which has two or more slashes between virtual directories working normally. Then i tried to Google.

http://www.google.com/ pr:10 as you know
http://www.google.com////////// pr:unranked but working.

http://www.google.com/////intl/en/////jobs///// working but
http://www.google.com/intl//en/////jobs///// doesn't.

http://www.google.com////////intl/en////////about.html working but
http://www.google.com/intl//en////////about.html doesn't.

What does it mean? How can throw slashes from an url and why Google doesn't?
