URL Rewriting

Postby payamazadi » Sat Mar 15, 2008 6:58 pm

Hello, I am having an issue with rewriting my URL - issue being I have no idea what I'm doing.

Because of my stupid ISP blocking incoming port 80 traffic, I have a couple of redirects that allows a user to enter mydomain.com or www.mydomain.com, and it gets them to my server. In the url box however, it has www2.mydomain.com:8080 (the www2 is required because of the nature of my DNS redirections). my question is, using mod_rewrite, can i get rid of that :8080 in the address bar, meaning have apache display www2.mydomain.com instead? If so, what would be the code?

Thank you so much for any help in advance.
