RewriteLock directive

New to mod_rewrite? This is a good place to start.

RewriteLock directive

Postby surj » Thu Jan 06, 2005 8:02 am

I am using an external rewriting program for my RewriteMap (which uses Perl to do some dynamic lookups ) and have a problem with the RewriteLock file.

I have listed the external rewriting program in each virtual host section in my httpd.conf (5 in total). I have listed the rewritelock directive at the top of my httpd.conf file as you cannot define the rewrite lockfile in the virtual host sections.

When I try to start apache or access a page via a rewrite rule, the rewrite lock file is not created.

I have even tried to define the lock file in /tmp to avoid file permission problems.

Can anyone help me and tell me what am I doing wrong?

I am using Apache/2.0.49 on Solaris.

Many thanks,
Surjit
