Change ip to URL

Hi I am running a server from my computer with a dynamic IP address. I am using no-ip.com to redirect traffic to my site thus allowing me to overcome the dynamic IP problem however when I type in the address say

www.mysite.com/index

it redirects the user to

186.567.284:8080/index

or what ever my current IP is

can I use mod_rewrite to change it back to it displays the URL and not the IP.

It can't be done. no-ip.com is sending a redirect, whatever you do when you get back to the domain it will redirect again. You'd have to use their proper DNS.
