Hiding true URL's with temporary ones

Postby Guest » Tue Feb 24, 2004 7:28 am

I'm interested in using the combination of mod_rewrite, and PHP to hide the true URL of my files available for download, and generate a temporary URL that will be good for a given download for, oh, say one hour. This way the user never sees the true URL of the file, and I don't have to move them around every so often to avoid abuse, and I don't have to resort to .htpasswd, which I just plain don't like..

Any ideas on where to start on this? or pointers to examples?

Thanks!
