Fix it!!

please help....mod_rewrite problem

Postby adr894 » Sun Oct 12, 2008 7:48 pm

Any advice is appreciated....

my server is as follows:
/htdocs
/htdocs/members <- mod_rewrite for folder protection
/htdocs/members/calendar <- also protected via above

In the members folder, I am trying to use a RSS reader that feeds from the calendar. I keep getting a 'file doesn't exist' error from the rss reader. I believe it's because of the mod_rewrite 'folder protection' I'm using.

When I was only using a .htaccess file, I was able to 'authenticate' the rss reader by placing the username/password in the http line (i.e. http://username:password@www.mydomain.c ... ar/rssfeed.

Now that I switched to mod_rewrite, this doesn't work anymore. Is there any way to accomplish the 'authentication' from the http line, like I did for the .htaccess file?

Thank you in advance,
adr894.
