Question: Does it work with WebSphere Portal?

I need to know if mod_rewrite works with IBM WebSphere Portal and/or WebSphere Commerce Server. Why wouldn't it work? How easy is it to implement? If it works can someone give me a link to a resource that states it works. Thank you.
