EXT2_LINK_MAX 32000 how to use mod_rewrite to overcome this?

Hi,

I am moving 57000 subdirectories from one server to another. Since the
new one is running Linux, there is a limit of subdirectories that can
be created set by #define EXT2_LINK_MAX 32000. I have 57000 subdirectories in one branch. Rebuilding kernel could've helped to increase this to 65535 but I am afraid to screw up the system.

What solution one may recommend using mod_rewrite?

ok - I can put the original directories into say:

/home/myuser/www/virtualdir1/directory1
/home/myuser/www/virtualdir1/directory2
...................
/home/myuser/www/virtualdir1/directory30000

and

/home/myuser/www/virtualdir2/directory30001
.........................
/home/myuser/www/virtualdir2/directory57000

What sort of code should I put in .htaccess to remove "virtualdir1"
and "virtualdir2"? I'd appreciate any samples - I am a newbie in
this....

Thank you!
