rewrite to remove a directory from a URL?

Hi, I want to remove the directory of my CMS from its url.

Right now, it's mysite.net/cmsdir/files but I want it to show mysite.net/files.

Basically, I want it to remove that /cmsdir from every URL and automatically show what the file is within that directory.
