rants?c=0&e=0 > rants\0\0\

New to mod_rewrite? This is a good place to start.

rants?c=0&e=0 > rants\0\0\

Hi all.
I'm extremely confused about how to do this.
Basically, I've setup my blog (Galv's Rants) so that the index, a page named rants (no extension, so it looks like a directory) does all the template parsing, etc...
What I'm trying to sort out is how to do it so that if someone selects, for example, the blog category foo, it would go to rants?c=0 (0 being the ID of foo) but display rants\foo\ and if they go to rants?c=0&e=0 (0 being the ID of the entry, named bar) it displays rants\foo\bar\.
Is there a way to do this without crontab recreating the HTAccess each night?
Thanks so much, I'm really out of my league here.
