replace single characters

Here's my question:
Is it possible to replace ebery occurence of a sepcific character with another character?

Example:

Code: Select all

http://www.abcabcabc.com


should be changed to

Code: Select all

http://www.bbcbbcbbc.com


(by replacing every "a" with "b")

Couldn't find a way to do this, yet... any ideas?
