Simple (?) mod_rewrite question

New to mod_rewrite? This is a good place to start.

Simple (?) mod_rewrite question

Postby Dark_Greg » Wed Jul 09, 2003 5:46 am

hey i am completely new to this, and have little or no experiance with regular expressions.

what i need is a mod_rewrite rule which can be stuck in a .htaccess file, which will point everything at index.php...all the while hiding the index.php and the fact that i am using php at all.

so www.example.com/article/2003-11-07 will actually call up www.example.com/index.php/article/2003-11-07

everything in this content management engine will be handled from the index.php file...
i've found some examples on the web but none seem to do the job...

i would also need the ability to exclude certain file types (namely images and other resources)

any help at all would be greatly appriciated

Thanks

Greg
