Passing a variable across .htaccess/mod_rewrite requests.

Hi there,

In short, as I understand it, everytime a request URL is rewritten in an .htaccess pass, then the request goes thru ANOTHER .htaccess pass. This is why it is possible to create those infinite loops that result in 500.

My question is, how can I pass a variable to the SECOND pass, from the FIRST one? I have tried using Env. variables [E=var:value], but the second pass isn't getting them. Is there a way to fix this?

Or can anyone think of any other way to accomplish this?

Thank you very much! :D
Cheers, --WK.

Perhaps you can give us a few more details on exactly what you are trying to do.
