What would you like them to be like?

The Friendly

Postby shailo » Sat Feb 21, 2009 5:15 pm

Hi richardk, you can see the script in my website (take out the #)h##p://toron#tomas#com#.
I want to show the titles and categories.
The script have the .htaccess, but the hosting don't accept the line php_flag register_globals 0 (It shows 500 error.

Also I tried #RewriteBase /, RewriteBase / but nothing happens.

This is the .htaccess
Code: Select all
php_flag register_globals 0

RewriteEngine on

## Probably not necessary, but if you want, add the basedir here which
## is the folder name where the index.php file resides
## On Apache servers, this will redirect pages to search engine friendly URL's
#RewriteBase /classphp

RewriteRule ^item([0-9]+).*$ index.php?Show_Item&$1
RewriteRule ^archive([0-9]+).*$ index.php?Show_Archive&$1
RewriteRule ^list_plain.*$ index.php?List_Plain&$1
RewriteRule ^list_plain_archive.*$ index.php?List_Plain_Archive&$1

If you want I can gave you access to my FTP.

I have other scripts like Joomla in the same hosting (1&1) and that's works very good.

Thank you

php_flag isn't mod_rewrite, it's PHP (mod_php). You don't need it. Try it without it.

What happens when you go to /item1?
There is almost certainly a configuration setting in the script to turn the friendly URLs on as this is a built in feature of the script. If you cannot find it ask the script authors.

Yes there are a configuration setting in the script to turn the friendly URLs ON, and I enabled and disabled that (there are many failures in the scrip).
That script don't have any support and the guy who made it ignore what to do.
As I said, if you want I can gave you, the access pasword and username of the FTP and the script to see that for your self.
Thank you

(there are many failures in the scrip).

What types of failures? 404 errors?
If they're PHP errors you need a PHP programmer.

That script don't have any support and the guy who made it ignore what to do.

If that is true then you should stop using the script now. Find a script with active support.

With the .htaccess with the line php_flag register_globals 0 shows 500 error and the without the line php_flag register_globals 0 this shows the old kind of URLs /index.php?Show_Item&1
I think is better if you see it by yourself in the website.
You'll understand better what happen.

Not those errors. The errors when you turn the friendly URLs on.
